Commercial Hot Water Leak
A business called us in a panic last week, a hot water pipe had burst inside of their kitchenette wall. Hot water can be much more damaging than room temperature water; hot water causes the pores in organic material (such as wood or drywall) to open allowing contaminates to saturate the material.
It was necessary to remove the flooring and to make flood cuts on the walls to allow proper drying of the subfloor and wall cavities. Once we opened the walls we applied an anti-microbial agent to the structural beams to discourage mold growth.
A quick response to this water damage saved this business thousands of dollars in lost productivity.
